Looking after the Foreshore
There are lots of ways to help our Foreshore stay in top condition. Many beach walkers pick up rubbish after storms, just one bag a day can make a difference. Although the beach cleaner gets most of the rubbish it can't clean every day.
Visitors to the beach can help maintain the dunes by keeping off the vegetation and outside the fenced areas. Taking all your rubbish off the beach after a summer outing is easy as most of the main entrances have rubbish bins that are emptied regularly.
Dog walkers are encouraged to pick up after their dogs.
The Frankston City Council has a special team of Rangers who maintain the walking paths, clean along the fenceline, remove weeds and carry out revegetation projects. There are several events people can get involved in like, Clean up Australia Day, Weedbusters and Summer by the Bay.
Any injured birds or animals should be reported to Animalia 0438 822 699 - if seals come up onto the beach, report them and keep away from them... they have big teeth.
