Working Bees
Our first working bee was on Wednesday 2nd of April 2015 at Keast Park from 10 am to 12 noon. We weeded out Gazanias and Marram Grass on the foredune in front of Crackerjacks. We had the Frankston Council Rangers working with us for the morning and was a great opportunity to learn more about the reserve.
Barb ran a second working be on Sunday 6th April from 10 am to 12 noon at the same site at Keast Park to weed out any Gazania's missed on the Wednesday. Unfortunately Rangers were not able to be in attendance on this day so if you have any questions call either
Alison 0439 342 192 or Barb 0402 260 048.

Our second working bee was on Wednesday the 7th May just north of the Seaford Pier were we took out a truck load of Cotula. Was a lovely day on the foreshore and the team did a great job. Our next set of working bees will be the first Wednesday in June on the 4th followed up on the next Sunday 8th. We will probably be working near track 22, which is just north of Seaford Pier.
June saw the friends group weeding out Gallenia near the East West track no. 22 We filled the truck again and then got stuck into the Angled Onion weed.
July saw the team pulling out more Marram Grass in the Keast Park area and August was a clean up effort to get the wind blown rubbish out of the dunes. We managed to pick up 20 bags of rubbish.... doesn't sound much, but it was small fiddly bits of lollie wrappers and bottle tops in amongst vegetation and seaweed.
